Standard of MUET will be increased.

According to this, the education ministry hopes to increase the standard of English among students to address the deficiency in English. The commencement of higher MUET requirement ensures that university and colleges created talented graduates with a decent order of the dialect and are able to land a position later on. Personally, I felt that the education ministry can do more. They need to come out with solutions such as increasing the standard for SPM first.

Banned talk featuring Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at UM.

With reference to this case matter, I felt that he is trying to say his final words before going for trial on his sodomy case. I felt that the management of Universiti Malaya is trying to stop the support of Oppositions from the university students, First and foremost, we as a student deserve a right to stand up against corruption among the country

The university should be receptive and not playing governmental issues. Thus, we must voice out if there is any disappointment among the college policies.

Social media sites used for education

Learning to social media is good as it can be used anywhere to the comfort of the students. For example, the use e-learning websites. However, it is important to find a social media sites that are practical to use in the classrooms. One of the major benefits of using social media with students is teaching them to communicate openly, honestly, and, above all, kindly with their peers. Every educations site has their own advantages and it all depends on the content of the lecture. Some of the social media sites used for education are twiducate, blackboard, Edu 2.0 and twitter (group tweets). The link below show the advantages of these sites.

Using social media marketing in higher education

Marketing plays a big role in recruiting students in higher education. Social media is a huge marketing medium. The surge in universities using social media to advertise has been a transforming the industry.

Most students survey for universities online in their own website but social media plays a big role in leading them to the website. There is also a survey that said that one fifth of the students said that they would remove and institution from their list of choices due to bad experience in the universities website.

Sex education and social media

Teenagers these days are maturing faster and it is common that teens starts drinking and having sex at a very young age. In this scenario, the social media plays a negative role, because everyone has it one way or another if a teen had sex all the peers will know about it. The impact on the teen is bad and teens feel pressured into taking drastic actions. Sex education has been implemented but is not yielding expected results. More has to be done and the best way to do so is by using social media itself, The link below shows the example of what is the impact of social media on teens mistakes.

Education in managing social media.

Social media has advantages as well as disadvantages. Education on how to manage social media's is necessary to avoid any unwanted scenarios. The best way to educate the management is through social media itself. Jocelyn Brewer, a psychologist working in a high school said that 'moderation is the key when it comes to chocolates and social media'. She also stated that the line between learning and leisure activities online is blurry and it has to be fixed. The link below leads to her article on managing social media use.

EXAM PAPER LEAKS AND ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN IT

http://hornbillunleashed.wordpress.com/2014/10/28/65146/

By this time, every Malaysian would have already known about the UPSR examination leak that resulted in nearly 470 000 pupils resitting for the examination. Many students would have gotten access to the leak using social media. Social media is an easy path to disseminate information quickly. As an example, students can share among themselves in secret groups in Facebook where they are unlikely to be caught. This negative act cannot be blamed on social media but social media certainly have had a hand in spreading these leaks and even the news of the leaks. The government has to do a better job in preventing this situation from happening again.

HOW RELATED IS SOCIAL MEDIA AND ONLINE EDUCATION?

http://news.yahoo.com/social-media-gains-momentum-online-education-153044330.html;_ylt=AwrTWfzsRGNUaGoAOg7QtDMD

Social media and online education are getting interrelated over the years. More lecturers in universities and teachers in schools encourage students to use the social media to learn. For example, students are encouraged and even instructed to put their work online in their blog or even Facebook so that others including their classmates, friends and teachers can see their work, rate them and give constructive remarks. This motivates students to put in more effort in their work, revealing the potential they have within. Personally I think this is a fantastic idea of getting students into a more participative learning environment and making them more interested in learning. However, demoralising and unconstructive feedback should be eliminated as this will demotivate students especially the weaker ones.

SOCIAL MEDIA RUINING STUDENTS' CONFIDENCE

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-health/11220581/Social-media-blamed-for-crisis-of-confidence-in-British-schoolgirls.html

Based on the article, a research conducted in UK this year shows the self esteem of students aged 14 and 15 have touched a significant low. Many students rank the way they look higher than family, school work and activities in terms of importance to them. This is disturbing news for not only UK parents but for parents around the globe as social media is affecting all of us directly and indirectly. Many students actually skip meals and go to school because society or the so called society in the social media especially in Facebook deems them to be overweight. When students do that, they do not have the energy to actually learn their subjects and do sports, causing them to lose out in education. Many students at that age should concentrate on studies rather than what society perceives them to be. Unfortunately. this is what is happening lately. Society condemns overweight people, causing the overweight people to feel unworthy. Imagine this happens to a 15 year old kid who then goes to school and faces another round of condemning because of this. Imagine if this was your child. We should look into this matter seriously and take drastic actions to solve this. Parents should also be more aware of their children's activity in Facebook or any other social medias.

Decreased PTPTN loan amount causes unhappiness to students.

Recently, PTPTN announced that there will be a decrease of 5-15% of loan amount to students in universities either in public or private universities. This cause uneasiness among students that the loan amount will be reduced. Personally, I felt that the increase is not justified because I felt that there is some mismanagement of funds of the government taking place without public knowledge. They could have invested locally instead of investing in things such as the infamous submarine.
