Social media and online education are getting interrelated over the years. More lecturers in universities and teachers in schools encourage students to use the social media to learn. For example, students are encouraged and even instructed to put their work online in their blog or even Facebook so that others including their classmates, friends and teachers can see their work, rate them and give constructive remarks. This motivates students to put in more effort in their work, revealing the potential they have within. Personally I think this is a fantastic idea of getting students into a more participative learning environment and making them more interested in learning. However, demoralising and unconstructive feedback should be eliminated as this will demotivate students especially the weaker ones.
