Standard of MUET will be increased.

According to this, the education ministry hopes to increase the standard of English among students to address the deficiency in English. The commencement of higher MUET requirement ensures that university and colleges created talented graduates with a decent order of the dialect and are able to land a position later on. Personally, I felt that the education ministry can do more. They need to come out with solutions such as increasing the standard for SPM first.

Banned talk featuring Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at UM.

With reference to this case matter, I felt that he is trying to say his final words before going for trial on his sodomy case. I felt that the management of Universiti Malaya is trying to stop the support of Oppositions from the university students, First and foremost, we as a student deserve a right to stand up against corruption among the country

The university should be receptive and not playing governmental issues. Thus, we must voice out if there is any disappointment among the college policies.

Social media sites used for education

Learning to social media is good as it can be used anywhere to the comfort of the students. For example, the use e-learning websites. However, it is important to find a social media sites that are practical to use in the classrooms. One of the major benefits of using social media with students is teaching them to communicate openly, honestly, and, above all, kindly with their peers. Every educations site has their own advantages and it all depends on the content of the lecture. Some of the social media sites used for education are twiducate, blackboard, Edu 2.0 and twitter (group tweets). The link below show the advantages of these sites.

Social medias in classroom

Social medias websites has become part of our life today. Now, it is used in classrooms. One of the advantages of this is that students are able to interact easier and express their views through social medias. It can help assemble the students' confidence and able to take in class discussions. Therefore, social medias is useful in classroom. However, this must be done in moderation as too much of social medias can be distractions for some students.

Using social media marketing in higher education

Marketing plays a big role in recruiting students in higher education. Social media is a huge marketing medium. The surge in universities using social media to advertise has been a transforming the industry.

Most students survey for universities online in their own website but social media plays a big role in leading them to the website. There is also a survey that said that one fifth of the students said that they would remove and institution from their list of choices due to bad experience in the universities website.

Sex education and social media

Teenagers these days are maturing faster and it is common that teens starts drinking and having sex at a very young age. In this scenario, the social media plays a negative role, because everyone has it one way or another if a teen had sex all the peers will know about it. The impact on the teen is bad and teens feel pressured into taking drastic actions. Sex education has been implemented but is not yielding expected results. More has to be done and the best way to do so is by using social media itself, The link below shows the example of what is the impact of social media on teens mistakes.

Education in managing social media.

Social media has advantages as well as disadvantages. Education on how to manage social media's is necessary to avoid any unwanted scenarios. The best way to educate the management is through social media itself. Jocelyn Brewer, a psychologist working in a high school said that 'moderation is the key when it comes to chocolates and social media'. She also stated that the line between learning and leisure activities online is blurry and it has to be fixed. The link below leads to her article on managing social media use.

EXAM PAPER LEAKS AND ROLE OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN IT

http://hornbillunleashed.wordpress.com/2014/10/28/65146/

By this time, every Malaysian would have already known about the UPSR examination leak that resulted in nearly 470 000 pupils resitting for the examination. Many students would have gotten access to the leak using social media. Social media is an easy path to disseminate information quickly. As an example, students can share among themselves in secret groups in Facebook where they are unlikely to be caught. This negative act cannot be blamed on social media but social media certainly have had a hand in spreading these leaks and even the news of the leaks. The government has to do a better job in preventing this situation from happening again.

SOCIAL MEDIA EDUCATES ON EBOLA

http://keranews.org/post/facebook-friends-ebola-relief-google-searches-donations

Ebola is rising quickly around the globe. However, there are still certain people who do not know about Ebola and what it is capable of. For your information, Ebola is a new killer disease from Africa that can be contracted through bodily fluids. It has no cure. Social media plays an important role in educating huge number of people including children on this disease. Social media such as Facebook and Twitter can help spread about Ebola, as in how it is contracted and what are the symptoms of it. By reading these write ups or posts, people are gaining more knowledge on worldly matters. Some social medias even have funds where we can donate fr Ebola relief as in the article. In matters like this, social media is of great help is spreading news and gaining help.

HOW RELATED IS SOCIAL MEDIA AND ONLINE EDUCATION?

http://news.yahoo.com/social-media-gains-momentum-online-education-153044330.html;_ylt=AwrTWfzsRGNUaGoAOg7QtDMD

Social media and online education are getting interrelated over the years. More lecturers in universities and teachers in schools encourage students to use the social media to learn. For example, students are encouraged and even instructed to put their work online in their blog or even Facebook so that others including their classmates, friends and teachers can see their work, rate them and give constructive remarks. This motivates students to put in more effort in their work, revealing the potential they have within. Personally I think this is a fantastic idea of getting students into a more participative learning environment and making them more interested in learning. However, demoralising and unconstructive feedback should be eliminated as this will demotivate students especially the weaker ones.

SOCIAL MEDIA RUINING STUDENTS' CONFIDENCE

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-health/11220581/Social-media-blamed-for-crisis-of-confidence-in-British-schoolgirls.html

Based on the article, a research conducted in UK this year shows the self esteem of students aged 14 and 15 have touched a significant low. Many students rank the way they look higher than family, school work and activities in terms of importance to them. This is disturbing news for not only UK parents but for parents around the globe as social media is affecting all of us directly and indirectly. Many students actually skip meals and go to school because society or the so called society in the social media especially in Facebook deems them to be overweight. When students do that, they do not have the energy to actually learn their subjects and do sports, causing them to lose out in education. Many students at that age should concentrate on studies rather than what society perceives them to be. Unfortunately. this is what is happening lately. Society condemns overweight people, causing the overweight people to feel unworthy. Imagine this happens to a 15 year old kid who then goes to school and faces another round of condemning because of this. Imagine if this was your child. We should look into this matter seriously and take drastic actions to solve this. Parents should also be more aware of their children's activity in Facebook or any other social medias.

Decreased PTPTN loan amount causes unhappiness to students.

Recently, PTPTN announced that there will be a decrease of 5-15% of loan amount to students in universities either in public or private universities. This cause uneasiness among students that the loan amount will be reduced. Personally, I felt that the increase is not justified because I felt that there is some mismanagement of funds of the government taking place without public knowledge. They could have invested locally instead of investing in things such as the infamous submarine.

How I come to HELP University

Hi, I'll br sharing how I come to HELP University. I normally wake up at 6am and leave house at 6.30am to catch the HELP shuttle bus which will arrive approximately 7.30am as my class starts at 8am. When I took the shuttle bus, I reach HELP usually 10-15 minutes before my class starts.

Daily Quote of the day

Help University Parking

I think by improving the parking situation at help would more than double please every student in HELP. Its also a good marketing selling point. 3000 parking bays provided !!!!! Flat entry rate !!!!!!!! Shuttle buses provided !!!!!!!!! I would sign up.

Possible solutions : Invest in decent priced season pass tickets near to Wisma,
: Invest less in a huge portion of land slightly futher away, which is cheaper and                                      provide shuttle buses. Covered walkways for rain and the sun.

Even better, reward outstanding students free season parking. Everyone studies harder, students get higher grades, Help University gets a better reputation. You help me, I help u.

SS15 rojak

Simply the best. sorry no picture. Search online. One is not enough. Pack back too many mosquitoes around.

Genting Highlands

Genting highlands, yes everyone has been there but i am going to emphasise on the thrill of just driving up and back down. Its a feel good feeling. Some good company, the more the better. Once we reach the parking lot, just get out and enjoy the mist, cold and fresh air, small chatter for some time. Since the theme park is under renovation, the only thing to do is eat and the casino but of course we can't enter because we are a minor and we are good children, HA HA HA. Have a few drinks and drive back down. Just another day.

Broga hills !!!

Thought it was easy, ended up doing exercises of almost a year in a day. Leave at 4.30 not later, although as a malaysian passport holder we are allowed of an hour extra time to leave. Coming down is more dangerous as you can slip and fall, everyone needs one torchlight no sharing or you might end up going to stepping in a hole. Mosquito repellent spray shoes with good grip is a good idea. Takes about an hour to go up, worth every drop of sweat. The cold air and view of the sunrise is a ideal reward. Water, bring loads of water. After coming down, chill for an hour then whack some good food. :D

A meal at Devi's Corner Bangsar

As a HELP University student, you must be familiar with this place. So what’s the plus point at Devi’s vs. other banana leaf joints? Well first of all, this place is comfortable and air-conditioned. Secondly, the curries that they drench your sauces in are so exquisitely well made, you walk the fine line where pain and pleasure meet. On my previous visits, I always opt for fish curry to be served with banana leaf rice. This time around. I had my banana leaf rice served with chicken curry and mutton curry for my ny next serving.

This is the chicken curry.

The chicken curry was good. It just goes well with it. While eating, it started raining. Therefore, I have no other choice but to continue eating instead of waiting blindly for the rain to stop. I decided to try the mutton curry.

Goodness, the mutton curry is brilliant!!! In my opinion, this is better than the fish curry. But don't get me wrong, all the curries here are good.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction Review

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction features a whole new cast, gone are the Sam Witwicky (played by Shia Lebouf). The movie starts with a new hero in town, Cade Yeager (played by Mark Wahlberg), an amateur small town Texas robotics inventorand a super-hot 17-year-old daughter Tessa (played by Nicola Peltz). One day, Wahlberg buys a beat-up old transport truck that he finds inside a rotting old movie theater (don’t ask, it’s never explained) and takes it home to discover that it’s Optimus Prime, desperately in need of some repairs. This bring them into some deep trouble involving Harold Attinger(played by Kelsey Grammer) as an evil CIA agent leading an operation called Cemetery Wind  hunting down Autobots. They had killed Ratchet and Leadfoot in the movie with some help from Lockdown, a bounty hunter. Joshua Joyce (played by Stanley Tucci) as the head of KSI and a tech billionaire who figured out how to build his own Transformers from stolen Transformer parts and redesigned them into man made Transformers. When the evil CIA agents hunt them, they were saved by Tessa's secret boyfriend, Shane (played by Jack Reynor) and managed to escape. Optimus meanwhile rallies the last remaining Autobots, Bumblebee, Hound , Drift and Crosshairs. Cade hacks into a drone he took from the attack in Texas, and learns that Cemetery Wind is working with a corporation called KSI. They decide to infiltrate KSI headquarters in Chicago for information. After that, Attinger commanded Galvatron and Stinger to pursue the Autobots. Galvatron and Optimus battle before Lockdown wounds and captures Optimus, along with Tessa into his ship, where he locks Optimus in the middle of his ship, which also carries the Dinobots.

In the ship, Lockdown told our hero Optimus Prime that the Creators wants Optimus's head. In the ship, the other Autobots help to save them. Optimus reveals that Galvatron is Megatron reincarnated, and that he has been manipulating KSI to make an armyin order to wipe out humans and create more Decepticons. Cade warns Joyce, which at the same time Galvatron activates by himself and infects all the KSI prototypes to join him. Joyce betrays Attinger and retreats to Beijing with Darcy, Joyce's assistant. and his business associate Su Yueming to get a military extraction.

Optimus then asks for Dinobots' help to destroy Galvatron's army. Optimus then proceeds to fight with Lockdown. Here's a link to it.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LMMP4ILcalI

Overall, this movie is poor with the exceptions of some good graphics and some battles between transformers that are above satisfactory. The human characters development and the plot are boring and blend. The dialogues is not good. I could say that I wasted 165 minutes for this movie.

The BEST Midfield Technician

Paul Scholes is easily my favourite player while he was playing.

Born in Salford, he first trained with Manchester United at the age of 14 after being spotted by a scout. He made his full debut for United in the 1994-95 season. I could go on and on about his biography but that is available everywhere else. I idolise him because of his great vision, technicality and athleticism. He was also cited by many of his peers including Socrates, Sir Bobby Charlton, Zidane and Xavi as the best midfielder of his generation. Manchester United have missed his pinpoint passing ever since he retired. However, he was a horrible tackler, amassing over 120 bookings throughout his career.

Off the pitch, Paul Scholes shies away from media, did not like giving interviews and avoided dramas. In a rare interview, Scholes described his ideal day as "train in the morning, pick up my children from school, play with them, have tea, put them to bed and then watch a bit of TV". He also admitted that he feared playing well during the early stages of his career, due to the media attention he would receive by doing so.

All in all, Paul Scholes is a man worth idolising for his personality on and off the pitch. He also proved nothing is impossible as he became and important Manchester United player despite being asthmatic and short.

EBOLA

Ebola is a rare disease caused by infection with one of the Ebola virus strains. It can cause disease in humans and non-human primates. Ebola was actually first discovered in 1976 near the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Most importantly, the symptoms of Ebola include,

  • fever
  • severe headache
  • muscle pain
  • weakness
  • diarrhea
  • vomiting
  • abdominal pain
  • unexplained bleeding or bruising
Symptoms may appear anywhere from day 2 to 21 after exposure. Recovery depends on the patient's immune response. People who recover from Ebola develop antibodies that last for at least 10 years.
Stay safe folks!

How to train for a marathon/half marathon?

Nowadays, the number of participants taking part in marathon(42km)/half marathon(21km) is increasing year by year. To some people, it may seems it's a daunting task. They will be asking whether they will complete it. So, I'm here to share some preparation tips in preparing these events listed above.

From the beginning of your prepartion, you may start running about 30 minutes every time for at least three times per week. Take it slow, you don't need to rush. As time goes by, increase your running time gradually.

On the event day, try to run three to four minutes per km slower on your long runs and on race day. Otherwise, just make sure you can talk comfortably, and take plenty of walk breaks. This pacing strategy will give you the endurance you need without wiping you out.

That's all and thank you for your time. :)

The governing of sports, corruption, sportsmanship, racism and the huge amount of money spent in sports.

Sports have developed and is broadcast worldwide. The influence of the sports are huge and many fans tend to develop the same habit or mindset. Good habits are always good to be showcased but what about the negligience of those sport players while on live TV. Sportsmanship is one of the major criteria most governing body of the sports are trying to instill, the question is to what extent is the governing body of the sports go to instill sportsmanship, to what extent are the punishments against racicm, unkindly acts are. This issue concerns most sports in the world, some do little about it some do too much about it. Another concern is the money being spent on sports, most of it, if donated could help many other people or countries in need of food, water or medicines. Most people should be aware of these issues.
